Sony has refreshed the catalog of titles available to PlayStation Plus Extra Games tier subscribers. The update, which is now live, adds three new games for members to download and play at no additional cost. This monthly refresh is a standard part of the service. All active PS Plus Extra and Premium members globally are affected by this change and can now access the new additions.
PlayStation Plus Extra Games: January 2026 Additions and Unchanged Services
The change specifically affects the library of games included with the Extra subscription. The newly added titles for this cycle are Resident Evil Village, the puzzle-platformer Cocoon, and the racing game Hot Wheels Unleashed 2 – Turbocharged. These are now part of the catalog for all Extra and Premium members.

This update does not remove any games from the PS Plus Extra catalog at this time. The service’s other tiers, Essential and Premium, continue to operate normally. The Essential tier’s monthly free games and the Premium tier’s classic catalog, game trials, and cloud streaming are unaffected by this specific addition. The core functionality of online multiplayer access for all tiers also remains unchanged.
Accessing the New PlayStation Plus Extra Games
No immediate action is required. The new PlayStation Plus Extra Games are automatically available in the PlayStation Plus section of the PlayStation Store on your console or via the web. You can browse to the Game Catalog to find and download Resident Evil Village and the other new titles at your convenience. Your access will remain as long as your PS Plus Extra or Premium subscription is active and the games are not removed in a future catalog update.

Awaiting Official Confirmation on Future Updates
Sony has not announced the next set of additions or any forthcoming removals from the PlayStation Plus Extra Games catalog. The company typically confirms the following month’s lineup near the end of the current month. No further changes to the January 2026 catalog have been scheduled.
